Preview and Streams : West Brom v Man Utd

Louis Van Gaal takes his Man Utd side to West Brom with 2 consecutive wins before the international break against West Ham and Everton where as West Brom too have an impressive form with two wins against Burnley and Spurs and a loss in their last game against Liverpool.

Van Gaal counts himself lucky as Man Utd suffered no injuries during the international break and several players such as Phil Jones, Ander Herrera and Michael Carrick return from injury. The injury list is now as short as just 4 players injured; Johnny Evans, Paddy McNair, Antonio Valencia and Jesse Lingard with an addition of Wayne Rooney who still has to sit 2 games out following the dismisal against West Ham.

It’s no secret who Man Utd will look to be the star man as Angel di Maria has enjoyed a spectacular start to his career at Old Trafford, scoring 3 and assisting 3 in his first 5 games. Another man that will look to shine is new arrival, Radamel Falcao, who net his first goal against Everton, which turned out to be the deciding goal, as he looks to prove his worth and show his true striking potential as he gets used to life in England following the injury that took him out of the World Cup.

For the home side, it is their 21 year old English striker, Saido Berahino, that they will look for to inspire them to grab a win against United as he is in inspired form, already getting 6 goals to his name this season. Their captain, Chris Brunt, currently nursing an injury picked up whilest in action with Northern Ireland and is doubtful for the game.

Predicted XI and Score

With possitive results in the last two games, I’m predicting Van Gaal will look to put out a similar team to the side that beat Everton 2-1. However, there will be returns for Herrera and Jones who will replace the injured McNair, who has really impressed when called upon, and Valencia. For this reason, I predict a 3-1 win for Man Utd as despite the attacking threat in Berahino, Man Utd look growingly confident in the defence and with the return of Phil Jones, it will only add an extra boost. Likewise with the return of Herrera in the midfield, the Spanish links between Di Maria, Mata and Herrera is something that has proved to be essential in attacks and very hard to control so will cause the West Brom defence many problems.
