According to Sportsmediaset, according to Metro (we looked on Sportsmediaset and found nothing of this), Zlatan Ibrahimovic has turned down an offer of a move to Manchester United in favour of a return to AC Milan.
The Swedish legend has been tipped with a return to Italy with an exit from PSG looming and, in a move Duncan Castles would be proud of, as is the nature of a player moving clubs these days, United have been interjected as an interested – and ultimately rejected – party.
This is United, who convinced Angel Di Maria to leave Real Madrid with no Champions League football on offer. United, who persuaded Bastian Schweinsteiger to leave Bayern Munich.
But apparently they haven’t been able to tempt Ibrahimovic.
Whether or not we were really interested? Well, given Zlatan’s penchant for abusing the Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal, let’s let you make your own mind up.
But for what it’s worth, here’s the Metro report:
Zlatan Ibrahimovic has reportedly been offered a three-year contract worth in excess of £7million by Manchester United.
The Sweden captain is understood to be open to leaving the Parc des Princes this summer, and has been heavily linked with a move to United.
And according to Sportsmediaset, the 33-year-old was offered a three-year deal to join United, with Turkish giants Galatasaray also tabling an offer.
Ibrahimovic is understood to have turned United’s offer down in favour of a return to AC Milan, where he is set to earn £4.2m a season.
The mercurial striker’s departure frees PSG to make a marquee signing this summer, with Angel di Maria and Alexandre Lacazette strongly linked with the reigning Ligue 1 champions.
