Well, would you look at that… Spanish news source AS are claiming that Radamel Falcao has signed from Monaco for a fee of around £51.4m on a salary of £7.11m a year.
AS claim that the deal was struck at 3am this morning on their website and Sky’s Guillem Balague – who broke the news that Angel di Maria was signing for United – shared the information via his Twitter account, rather than dismissing the information.
Javier Matallanas reports
“First big surprise on the last day of the close of trading. Radamel Falcao gave the slip to Manchester City and Juventus and eventually going to become the new Manchester United striker. Yesterday’s operation was closed at 3:00 pm. morning and during the day it was made official.
The Manchester United paid 65 million euros to Monaco for the Colombian striker, who signed for four seasons at the rate of nine million net each.”
Do we believe it? Well, we’re starting to. Just two things, ‘it was made official’ – no news has yet broke other than this, and would it be odd for a Spanish source to break a transfer between a French and English club?
Reputable British journalists are now reporting that a deal has been agreed to sign Falcao on loan, subject to a medical later today.
