Louis van Gaal sensationally revealed tonight that Ryan Giggs will be his successor.
Speaking at an event at Lancashire County Cricket Club, Van Gaal let slip that new signing Anthony Martial was bought for the long term, and specifically his ‘successor, Ryan Giggs’.
When Van Gaal was hired in May 2014 it was widely expected that Giggs would retire and be named his assistant with a view to succeeding the legendary Dutch coach at the end of his three year contract.
The first two parts of that prophecy came true and now it appears that the third has been publicly confirmed.
It has been reported by some leaks coming out of Old Trafford that Giggs and the manager do not get on although it would appear that these suggestions are merely mischief.
