This week I was fortunate, along with six other Manchester United fans from twitter, to be invited to the Bryan Robson Social Media Launch Night.
Since I was a child in the 1980s, Bryan Robson has always been my all time football hero, so it was a real honour to spend this time with him.
The event was held in the Old Trafford Museum and was hosted by MUTV’s Stewart Gardner, with it also being filmed for MUTV.
Bryan has recently joined social networking on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram, which is brilliant news for United fans and football fans in general. Bryan spent time discussing what he made of social networking so far with us and he was interested to hear our feedback on what we thought of what he had posted so far. He was also interested to hear the sorts of things we’d like him to talk about on there in the future.
Bryan also spent time talking about his life in football, from his days at West Brom, a lot about Manchester United, his England career, his managerial career and also his work as an Ambassador for Manchester United. We also got to look at a number of items from his career, such as his 1983 FA Cup Winners Medal, his 1993 Mini Premier League Trophy, some match worn shirts and even his shoulder brace from the 1986 World Cup.
Bryan was happy to answer a number of questions we put to him and gave his honest views on everything.
It is pleasing to see that Bryan is enjoying his work as an Ambassador at United and it is keeping him busy.
