Manchester United are poised to complete the signing of 24-year-old Belgium international, Romelu Lukaku. The Everton striker is the subject of a £75m transfer from Manchester United but it is believed that his current club are delaying the deal, as they want add-ons on the deal that may potentially raise the transfer fee to a mind-boggling £90m.
Sky Sports reports that United are increasingly confident about the deal, and are continuing medical examinations with the player in Los Angeles, as they hope to conclude the deal before the club jet off to The USA for pre-season.
It is yet unclear whether the 20-time English champions will be looking to agree to the new twist to the transfer saga, but with Chelsea lurking in the background, United manager might sanction the move as he is desperate to get the deal over the line and signal a huge statement of intent to our league rivals.
Back in March, Lukaku shocked the Everton hierarchy and fans that he won’t extend his current deal at Goodison Park, which expires in 2019. He has never hidden his ambition to test himself against the best players in the world and wants the opportunity to play in the UEFA Champions League.
Lukaku is a powerful forward known for his finishing, pace and holdup play. Last season, he scored 25 League goals in 37 matches, most of which were eye-catching. Since joining Everton from Chelsea permanently in 2014, he has become one of the best players in the division, and has scored over 80 Premier League goals in 5 months.
why would you ever put Lukaku’s face on Ashley Young’s body. Like come on!
