Team News: United To Line Up 4-3-3 – Herrera & Schweinsteiger Start?

Manchester United visit the impressive Swansea City this afternoon hoping to extend their unbeaten record.

In order to do so it is likely they will continue with the consistent defence that has barely been troubled this season, and it is surely likely that Juan Mata, Wayne Rooney and Memphis will continue to be United’s triumvirate of attackers.

The big question will surely come in the midfield selection and while Morgan Schneiderlin has done a good job, Louis van Gaal may have seen enough in the minutes that Carrick and Schweinsteiger played together to suggest it could be a worthwhile combination for away games. The manager has mentioned about playing each player for sixty minutes but with the international break coming up, he may feel this is a solution that could work.

Ander Herrera’s second half was far better than his first on Wednesday, leading to those who champion the Spanish midfielder’s inclusion feeling justified. And, with Swansea’s tendency to try and play possession football, maybe Van Gaal will go with the player to bulk up United’s midfield in the first half.

The game kicks off at 4pm and is live on Sky.
