Legendary striker, Zlatan Ibrahimovic could be edging closer to a Manchester United exit if we do sign Alexis Sanchez from Arsenal. News emanating this week has suggested that the 29-year-old Chilean could the subject of a player plus cash deal by the 20-time and according to a Turkish publication, Ibrahimovic could be ready to leave Old Trafford should the former Barcelona man arrive at Old Trafford.
Turkish news outlet fotoMac reports that both Besiktas and Galatasaray are monitoring the situation of Ibrahimovic and could be interested in a move for the 36-year-old striker. Ibrahimovic has not hit the heights of last season for United, where he scored 28 times in 46 appearances given that he suffered a nasty leg break in a Europa League fixture back in April. Should Sanchez arrive, he could find himself as third choice centre forward behind the Chilean and summer arrival, Romelu Lukaku.
Ibrahimovic has suffered other minor injuries since recovering from knee surgery last November, but doesn’t look like the same player he was. Besiktas currently need a marksman given that they have just sold Cenk Tosun to Everton in a £2 7million deal.
For fans of Manchester United, it would be a sad sight to see Zlatan leave The Theatre of Dreams, but even the Swede knows when it’s time to go as he wouldn’t want a situation where he is fit but can’t get onto the pitch. Dursun Ozbek, the Galatasaray president is reportedly mulling a bid to lure the player to the Turkish Super Lig.
Ibrahimovic, whose contract expires at the end of the season has played for a host of top European sides throughout his career and could be willing to take on the Turkish adventure.
He has made just 5 league appearances this season, starting just once with his solitary goal this campaign coming in the 2-1 embarrassing loss to Bristol City in the Carabao Cup quarterfinals.
