Tonge’s Tips: Aston Villa (Win a free £5 bet!)

In partnership with SetantaBet, 7Cantonas.com brings you “Tonge’s Tips”, a look ahead to the Premier League games with a bit of a twist. This season, Alan, the 7Cantonas team and the good fellows over at GGMU are going head to head in their predictions, and want you, our readers, to join in.

Alan : With the Carling Cup disaster infuriating many supporters, we are in desperate need of a performance to boost confidence in the ranks. After a disappointing 1-1 draw with Newcastle last Saturday, this could well be a huge game (in my opinion) within the seasons twists and turns. Chances are Man City will be cranking up the pressure after disposing of Norwich, and we will simply have to respond. We certainly don’t want to go 8 points adrift that’s for sure. This is always a nervy, tight fixture and I will (with fingers and toes crossed) tip us to narrowly take the points 1-0. (5/1 with SetantaBet).

For the bonus bet, I’ll go with a buoyant  Tottenham to put a struggling Bolton to the sword and win 3-0. (7/1 with SetantaBet).

Mart : After crashing out of the Carling Cup on Wednesday night, United travel to Villa Park in the late evening on Saturday. We’ve not won at Villa Park since we hammered Villa in October 2008 and our form lately doesn’t point to us hammering anyone anytime soon!

Villa haven’t been impressive this season but they’ll be up for the visit of the Champions and so we’ll have to be at our best (this is getting repetitive isn’t it?). I would hope after Fergie’s apology to us the players would be looking to bounce back and put on an impressive display.

I’m going to break the habit of the last few weeks and predict a 2-0 win for the reds with Giggs getting his traditional goal and Rooney scoring his first goal since September. United to win 2-0 is 6/1 with SetantaBet.

In Saturday’s early kick off, Newcastle host Chelsea at St James’ Park. Villas-Boas is feeling the heat and with the way that Chelsea are performing I can see that heat being turned up much higher, I’m backing Newcastle picking up the win in a 2-1 victory. The Magpies beating the Blues 2-1 is 12/1 with SetantaBet.

Tom @ GGMU : United are in the midst of a frustrating patch in their season after some disappointing results both domestically and in Europe. The midweek Carling Cup loss to Crystal Palace at Old Trafford merely served to heighten the anxiety amongst fans as the season is in danger of slipping away from us unless we start producing positive results again. United’s record at Villa Park is traditionally a good one although Fergie’s side have only managed to draw on their last to visits there. Given current form, I see a draw, although it pains me to say it. Villa 1 – 1 United (6/1 with SetantaBet).

Bonus Bet: Adebayor first goal scorer in Spurs v Bolton @ 3/1.

Setanta Bet are offering a £5 free bet to the first person who posts a prediction that beats the team, and the scoring is as follows :

*One point for a correct score

*One point for a correct result
