Tonge’s Tips : Bolton Wanderers

Tonge’s Tips : Bolton Wanderers

In partnership with SetantaBet, 7Cantonas.com brings you “Tonge’s Tips”, a look ahead to the Premier League games with a bit of a twist. This season, Alan, the 7Cantonas team and the good fellows over at GGMU are going head to head in their predictions, and want you, our readers, to join in.

Alan : A potential banana skin. Let’s hope it isn’t. The position and form of Bolton makes you think this game is a certainty. Not so. After a bizarre game last Sunday where we had a good first half and a shocking second, the primary objective will be to get a consistent 90 mins in! If we do, we win! Although I think it will be tight early on, I reckon we can finally wear Bolton down and I’m going to suggest a 2-0 victory. (United to win 2-0 is 5/1 with SetantaBet)

For the bonus selection I’m going to go for an accumulator this week. Man Utd, Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool, Tottenham and Man City all to win their respective games.

Good Luck!

Mart : Manchester United, who fresh off beating Manchester City (albeit losing the game morally) face a woeful Bolton side at home on Saturday at 3pm, for the first time since Sunderland back in November. United go into the game having not lost to the Trotters since September 2002 and with the way that Bolton are playing, United have no reason to fear Bolton but I did write that about Blackburn….

A seemingly happier Wayne Rooney will be looking to hit the net again after scoring twice against Man City last week and with hopefully a couple of players set to return, United could play the game with four actual defenders rather than round holes and square pegs and so I back the reds to beat Bolton convincingly 4-0 (10/1 with SetantaBet), Rooney with two and Nani and Danny Welbeck the others.

In my other tip, I’m backing Wigan to frustrate Manchester City to a draw at the DW on Monday night. City haven’t lost their last 2, albeit in the cups and Wigan have held Chelsea and Liverpool at home recently, with City missing some players through injury and the African cup of nations, I’m going for the 1-1 draw (9/1 with SetantaBet).

Tom @ GGMU : United need to keep the pressure up on City, who are faltering, with a decisive win over Bolton on Saturday. There is also the small matter of Spurs, who are now level on points with the Champions. Harry Redknapp’s side welcome Wolves to White Hart Lane and it is difficult to envisage a slip up there. A nervy second half aside, United looked more dangerous against City last weekend and had that hunger back that had been missing in recent weeks. Bolton’s record against the top sides has been poor this season so I am going for a convincing United win: United 4 – 0 Bolton

Bonus bet: Fernando Torres first goal scorer v Sunderland @ 7/2 on Setantabet
