The major headlines in the sports pages have been dominated by the news that Real Madrid legend, Cristiano Ronaldo is ready to leave the club after the tax authorities levelled tax evasion claims of €14.7 million. The Portuguese superstar is ready for a new challenge after claiming that the club has not backed him enough, something that was not missing when Barcelona backed Lionel Messi during his own tax case.
Alvaro Morata has been linked with a strong exit away from the club, but with this latest scenario, could put a hold on his rumoured move to Manchester United, as the club feels that without Ronaldo, Morata will represent the future alongside sensation, Marco Asensio.
The Mirror reported that Chelsea have joined the race for the Spanish international, but is believed that United are still front runners for his signature. However, Morata is still prepared to monitor the situation as he believes that he is ready to star for Los Blancos.
Ronaldo leaving the club will only strengthen Morata’s resolve to become top dog at the club, as he doesn’t really want to leave Spain because of his family.
Morata is a striker known for his finishing, passion and movement. He has also played for the likes of Juventus and is ready to move due to the 2018 World Cup coming up next summer.
