Victor Valdes has committed himself to Manchester United, taking to Twitter to respond to rumours that have suggested the Spanish goalkeeper is set to leave Old Trafford.
Valdes has been linked with a move to Turkey and back home to Spain – after being left behind from the US tour, it seemed as if Louis van Gaal had decided he no longer needed the goalkeeper. And after he was left out of the U21 friendly last night, it seemed as if the writing was on the wall and an exit immient.
However the former Barcelona goalkeeper decided to take the direct route and went straight to his social network page to make his position very clear.
‘After a hard training session this morning, I am working hard for this season! Come on you Reds!’ he tweeted, alongside a picture of him with his thumb up and a beaming smile.
With David De Gea’s future up in the air and potential targets Petr Cech and Asmir Begovic already moved, Valdes must feel he has a strong chance of being United’s number one this season.
