Goodison Park has been a happy hunting ground, in general, for Manchester United over the years.
When thinking of classic games between the two in Premier League history then the obvious one that stands out is the comeback from two goals down to win 4-2 in 2007 and grab a crucial three points.
There were some great games there in the early days of the Premier League – a great goal from Lee Sharpe in 93/94 sticks in the mind. This game, from 1995, came soon after Everton had won two games against the Reds 1-0 (including the FA Cup Final). Andrei Kanchelskis had moved to the Toffees and many were believing that Everton may have surpassed the Reds.
However, this fantastic game was one of many examples in the early season that demonstrated the true quality of ‘Fergie’s Fledglings’.
A similar result and performance tomorrow would be very welcome indeed.
