Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho earlier this season revealed how much he loves his present crop of players.
The Portuguese was almost going emotional while even letting his heart-felt piece after the 2-1 loss to Real Madrid in the UEFA super cup.
He said: “I’m so happy to be the manager of these guys, I told them a few days ago that during my long career I never had a group that I liked so much, like I like them”.
Mourinho wasn’t trying to make his players like him as he obviously has the loyalty of the players. He was just telling the obvious truth.
One reason Mourinho likes his present squad is that they are all happy to be together. The players love him being their coach and he’s also proud to be their Gaffer.
A quality that also trips the Portuguese about his players is their fighting spirit. Every player in the team is always striving to improve and nail down a spot in the first-eleven.
Little wonder many predict his line-up using the performance of the players in previous matches.
Another reason he loves them is that they always carry out his instructions and want to impress him. Gone are those days when Louis van Gaal told Ander Herrera not to launch an outside shot which the player totally went against and got rewarded with a lovely goal.
Also, the former Real Madrid Coach loves his present team because he has options in every position with some positions like the left back spot boasting of about five options.
The reasons are even too many to mention but the fact remains that, Mourinho didn’t mince words when he said he loves his present crop of players because he has every reason to.
