Why we love Paul Pogba

Why we love Paul Pogba

Manchester United will head into matches with more confidence after a mini slump. The Red Devils are back on the four-goal trail after defeating Newcastle United 4-1 over the weekend, and the presence of Paul Pogba was key to our resurgence. The 24-year-old France international was thrust into the starting eleven by José Mourinho despite only returning to full fitness after two months.

However, the influential player had no rustiness as he marked his comeback with a dominant performance, registering a goal and assist in the game. His manager, Mourinho showered praises on the player insisting that it is Pogba that is the lynchpin of side.

Pogba has missed the last 12 matches of our season, but his return has coincided with more confidence as we try to navigate the hectic fixture schedule of next month. Pogba scored yet again, and is finally looking like the player that United shelled out £89m for his services last summer. He struggled last season, as he endured a difficult return and acclimatisation to the English league. This season he has registered 3 goals and 3 assists in 5 matches, meaning that he has scored or created a goal every 72 minutes.

Pogba is a presence on the pitch that United fans love so much. United fans were incensed when he was sold to Juventus back in 2012, and with the Frenchman now running the strings in midfield, we have finally forgiven Sir Alex Ferguson who sold the then teenager five years ago. In his time in Turin, Pogba has matured into one of the best midfielders in the world and is finally showing consistency required of a player of his ilk.

He has assumed a position of leadership and is regarded as one of the most experienced players in the squad despite his years, as he has played in the biggest matches against the biggest players in world football. Without Pogba, United were in a rut but with our classy no 6 in the middle of the park alongside Nemanja Matic coupled with the goalscoring threat of Zlatan and Lukaku upfront, we can rack up the points and challenge City for the title.

Pogba is the key to unlocking our best, and the rest of the league should be scared because we are back and gunning for the title.
