There has been varying degrees of reaction after news broke out that 28-year-old midfielder, Marouane Fellaini is an injury concern for the game against Arsenal after being sent back to Manchester United from international duty. The former Everton man has always divided opinion since his move to Old Trafford three years ago, but this season, he has looked to establish himself as a key player for Jose Mourinho. United are in for a crucial month, as they look to climb up the league table after an indifferent start to the season. In Europe, they also sit third in a group containing Fernabache, Feyenoord and Zorya.
Fans on Twitter, the popular social media platform have commented on the potential absence of Fellaini against Arsenal after the international break. After being derided for much of his United career, Fellaini is slowly getting the adulation he deserves after a series of committed performances. He has played a total of 12 games this season spanning different competitions, with eight of them coming in the league, as per whoscored.
Here’s what United fans have been saying on social media:
Trump news winning the election got me saddened but fellaini injury joys me up.

@ManUtd Of what benefit has Marouane Fellaini been to #MUFC even when he was without injury? He's just another pensioner earning free wages.

Don't rush back @Fellaini. You don't wanna 'cause anymore damage to your injury. You might wanna sit out the rest of the season. #MUFC

Fellaini is an experienced Belgian international. Since his debut in 2007 he has gone on to make 75 appearances for the national team, scoring 15 goals. He is likely to be missed against Arsenal as he offers a commanding presence in the middle of the park, and without him, United risk the chance of being run ragged by the Gunners fast paced midfield.
